I saw a post on Instagram recently from a FELLOW photographer WHO REALLY IRKED ME (I can’t remember his name). HE talked about the ‘trends in wedding photography for THE YEAR.’ IT LEFT ME PONDERING, HOW CAN THERE BE TRENDS? PHOTOGRAPHY IS photography. to me, CHANGING your style and editing to suit a trend is completely nonsensical Whether you consider AND MARKET yourself AS a party photographer or shoot with an ELEGANT editorial style, it’s all the same. If you’re having a £25000 wedding in swanky hotel with all the bells and whistles or if you’re on a budget and having a reception IN YOUR BACK GARDEN, I recognise that they are all special. I know the act of marriage is a time old tradition and is sacred. I know SOMEONE’S WEDDING IS A cherished moment. The camera will capture and the photographer sees, like an invisible voyeur. The moments are fleeting and won’t be repeated.

THE amalgamation of the raw and hilarious, THE unfiltered moments, the breathtakingly beautiful TO THE elegant and abstract. I SHOOT IT ALL. You’ll see that I photograph on film as well as digital on budget cameras as well as the more expensive kind. Photography, in essence, is about not conforming to ‘the trends for 2025’, it’s about adapting and capturing those real moments and editing in your unique way.

And that is the purpose of photography and life.
